It does not kill an iPad, rather it’s an iPad app that can kill the competitors’ iPad apps. This Microsoft innovation is considered by many as more impressive than the Bing’s iPhone app.

This iPad works wonders and it’s optimized with the tablet. In comparison to the Google iPad app, this killer app is a lot more fun to use and users will definitely enjoy its wide array of features.

Amazingly, users have the chance to search any topics they want. It allows the users to check information from the basic daily news and weather to the latest trend or even information in the business world. The easy access is made possible by the content tiles of the app’s home screen.
It’s a complete package for iPad users since it allows the users to browse the internet with its optimized in-app.

Browsing is made easy, thus users call this app as a browser, though officially it is not. A single flick of your fingers allows you to gather lots of information. Additional information can even be sourced without the use of the search box.

The “swipe interface” feature, as called by Microsoft, is another feature of this iPad app which makes it the killer type. The user can quickly go back to his or her previous search by a simple right swipe.

AT&T Interactive’s YP.com has become just the second website after Bing to integrate the interior imagery system from EveryScape. This feature allows users to enjoy a virtual tour of the interior of a shop or store or restaurant of their choice.

Jim Schoonmaker, CEO of EveryScape, has indicated that similar deals are in the works for the future, emphasizing the synergies between the company’s deals with both YP.com and Bing. AT&T currently provides Bing with local advertising.

EveryScape CEO Jim Schoonmaker told me that more of these deals were coming but highlighted the “synergies” between his deals with Bing and YP.com. AT&T provides local advertising to Bing.
When asked how Everyscape’s system differs from a company made video tour, Schoonmaker stated that videos tended to feel like sales pitches that tended to put off consumers, while “webscapes” like those employed by EveryScape’s system gave them the power to explore a location on their own.

Additionally, Schoonmaker stated that virtual tours made a consumer more likely to buy from a featured business. The press release backed this assertion up with numbers, saying that 87% of consumers that explored a business via EveryScape ended up having a positive affinity for the featured establishment, with 70% of those consumers stating that they were more likely to visit the location in person.

Google has been spotted trying to get in on this trend by collecting interior photos of local businesses. Also, Mok Oh, founder of EveryScape, has recently been named by WHERE.com as “Chief Innovation Officer”.

Bing’s own Amar Patel stated some time ago at GetListed’s Local University that approximately half of the user-generated searches for restaurants are done from mobile devices. Given how astonishing this data was, we followed up and discovered exactly where this interesting little tidbit came from.

This fact was just one of many revealed in a survey sponsored by Google in 2009. Its other interesting findings include:

90% of users run searches online for restaurant information

80% of these users make their decisions based partly on the search results

Of these 80%, a little over half make run their searches from their mobile devices

Half of 80% of the 90% of users who execute these searches equates to 36% of the user-base overall. The fact that these numbers come from a survey done in 2009 when the market for smart mobile devices was smaller, it’s certain that this number has grown considerably since then.

The current top five local search categories from mobile devices are, from greatest to least:

Restaurants (also the top category on PC searches)

Banks

Hotels

Gas Stations

Mobile Phone Stores
