06 Apr Dealmap Hits 2 Million Users in Less than a Year
Just a few years ago, it was quite hard to find a site that put together almost all the coupons available out there. Since then, there have been dozens of companies, sites and apps that have sprung up, all of them vying to be the go-to marketplace or aggregator for the best coupons and local deals. Of them all, only one now sits at the top: The Dealmap.
Just this month, the company confirmed that their website and social and mobile apps, have now logged over 2 million users in just the past 11 months. They also report that their iPhone and mobile apps have been installed on over a million devices. The Dealmap claims that it currently aggregates more than 400,000 local deals coming from over 350 distinct sources of local and daily deals.
The company has also announced that its DealExchange network now receives more than 85 million visitors a month thanks to over 40 commercial distribution agreements with major players such as Microsoft.
This makes the company a prime target for acquisition, with possible buyers including big names such as IAC, Microsoft, AT&T, and perhaps even Google, Yahoo, or even major newspaper companies such as Hearst or McClatchy. It’s only a matter of time before this company gets snapped up, so the corporate development personnel of such big players had better act quickly.
